The Benjamin and Edith Spaulding Descendants Foundation, Inc. (BESDF) is our non-profit organization established for education, literacy, and charitable purposes. The fund uses donations to award scholarships to African-Americans or Native-Americans who are current residents of Bladen, Columbus, Brunswick, New Hanover, Pender, Robeson County in the state of North Carolina who are not family members. Scholarships are awarded to students pursuing their first undergraduate or graduate degree.​
